India is an epitome of diversity, in every aspect such as geographical, physioclimatic, socio-cultural, religious, political, linguistic, biological etc. Our country is rich in domicile of cultural and biological diversity. Time immemorial the unique culture and tradition of India requires a holistic bent to understand systematically.

It is a known fact that Education is living itself but we have forgotten the good old principles of our Rishis that we must inculcate at the time of childhood in formation of character too which in day to day life we are totally unaware that our society has lost practical teacher sat institutions. The value of teachers must have far more value in moral ethics. From this it is clear that the world we live itself is a school. In the present state the taste of the parents and children are not ready and requires time to adjust to the current approach of our education system. Ours is a combination of current schooling and alternative schooling where the children will be able to find and free to decide their living in any type of atmosphere and circumstances knowing the surrounding well.

Implementing our curriculum the developing generation with good right and true thinking with strong backbone of human society will make truly healthy in mental, physical and moral. The present educational system has lost the moral value with an undisciplined young generation with no aim or goal in their life which have led them to use of drug and wine causing an unhealthy society. It is quite the absence of love and loss of morality. Taking this into consideration of eradicating the viral poison being injected at the young generation the Trust decided to bring a strict discipline with high moral, ethical and spiritual values in children and students.

The classes will be taken by eminent persons of the society with clear background in their living who will build a strong character morally and spiritually with studies of Veda and yoga as one of the most important parts of our education.

U.P. SCHOOL

The school is situated 13 kilometers away from Palakkad town and 12 kilometers from Muthalamada in Palakkad District, Kerala at Manjaloor, Thenkurissi Panchayat. The children are coming from 10 sq. kms surrounding area from peasant families whose meager income do not even provide a good meal a day. There are five hundred and twenty five students studying in Ist to VIIth standard with thirteen divisions.


The Trust provides free uniforms, writing materials, food and van for conveyance. In a year the cost for dress materials alone is Rs.65000/-. Regarding the stationery materials the amount comes to Rs.94,500/- including bags and chappals. The annual expenses towards conveyance comes to Rs.85000/-.

The Trust is wishing to provide one computer to cope up with the need of the time. The curriculum include Arabic, Sanskrit and Drawing. The Trust plans to start an English medium school at the beginning of the next academic year to provide better education to the rural students.

The Vocational training centre aimed at educating the poor and low income group students in the field of computer software, hardware, air-conditioning and refrigeration, glass painting, embroidery, mobile phone technology etc. The students are imparted knowledge in the field of accounting also. We have two hundred and fifty students studying in the fields mentioned above in various shifts. Nominal fees is charged from some of the sturdents who cab afford to, but most of them are trained free of charge. There are only five computers and a workshop for refrigeration course.

The Trust is entering a new phase in the field of educating students with religious, moral and spiritual background which is the foundation of our cultural heritage that has been lost and disappeared from our society hankering towards pleasures in living with five senses bound and blind where the society has lost the character and discipline which is viral to the present generation. The students have become only products of institutions lacking in everything except in holding few degrees in search of getting a job for buying rice and banana. In due course the society will be led by intelligent brutals of animal character which we see in day to day life. This should change and inculcating the idea in moral, human and spiritual value, development in their personality the Trust is setting an institution at Kollengode, Palakkad Dt, Kerala useful for a moral and healthy society.

Initially the classes for plus one students will be starting in humanities and commerce. For Ist degree course there shall be B.Com, B.B.A, Graduation and Post Graduation in Economics, History, Hindi and Sociology.

We will be conducting classes on personality development, eco-social and cultural studies, environmental, Veda, yoga and other exercises which shall make students fit practical in day to day living with strong behavior and knowing self too. Of the above project the minimum estimate for the infrastructure will amount to Rs.8,00,000/- and in addition a workshop in the filed to give training to the poor girls, women and destitute in providing them a sustainable income in small scale industries of various fields according to their tastes.

At present the Trust has conducted various programs for College students in and around Palakkad district. Free tuition is provided to poor students in villages for all classes and orientation is conducted by eminent lecturers and professors from various colleges at our invitation lending a helping hand to us in the service to the poor and downtrodden. This is aimed at bringing intelligent students of low income group and help them to achieve higher studies by giving scholarships. The Trust has already given scholarships to one hundred best students including in the field of medical and engineering courses. In the new system of education for plus two students, the Trust has provided free guides to students in Palakkad district.

The idea of general education has not yet reached the corner of interior villages. In view of this the Trust is wishing to conduct open school courses for the rural people who are between 18 to 35 years. They will be given assistance to take degree courses in academic subjects as well as in the field of agriculture and farming, technology and development etc. But the Trust lacks adequate infrastructure like building, libraries, open hall etc. Initially they shall be provided with learning and writing materials and efficient artisans shall be brought to guide them in their skills.

Sneham Charitable Trust proposes to enhance its educational services by establishing a Deemed University, which will have facilities from kindergarden to PG and Doctoral studies.

Phase I of the Project

Schooling

• Basic school facility starting from Kindergarden to 12th standard accommodating 1000 students

Under graduate programs

• Arts and Science College accommodating 900 students
• Engineering College accommodating 1200 students
  
• Biomedical, Paramedical, Microbiology and Biotechnology accommodating 200 students
  

Phase II of the Project

• Postgraduate and Doctoral programs for selected branches.

Source of Funds

Proposed to mobilize the funds through donations, promoters contributions, Governmental and other aids, investment from NRIs , Volunteer organizations and individuals in India and abroad.

Presently, Royal family of Palakkad has agreed to provide 100 acres of land located between Palakkad and Walayar. Rest of the funds are to be mobilized.

Present Status 

Papers related are submitted to Govt. of India , Govt. of Kerala, UGC and AICTE. Govt. of India and UGC has fundamentally agreed to approve the project. For final approval Land purchase documents as per norms has to be produced. Activities in this direction are in progress.
